I grew up playing baseball. The game formed many aspects of who I am today. As a pitcher, performing under pressure was something that I got accustomed to from a young age. The game taught me about about determination and hard work and I saw that pay off. I went from a little league average pitcher to a junior level closer with a 92 mile an hour fast ball who was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers.
At 18, I moved to the States to play and in my mind, I was living the dream. Out on my own, pursuing my dreams as a professional athlete, and dedicating a lot of time and energy to improving. But after playing at such a high level for a couple of years, my interest started to wane. I discovered that baseball didn’t ignite the same passion it had when I was younger. I ultimately decided to come back home to Vancouver and try other things.
I went back to school with intentions of getting into business. To pay tuition, I got a job working with a valet company. After the first few months, I started to detect inefficiencies and gaps in the services. Six months later I had incorporated my own company.
As a young entrepreneur, I expanded my company thanks to the leadership skills I had learned through sports. My ability to resolve problems, manage relationships, and negotiate allowed me to grow my client base to include multiple high end department stores and resturants, and even serve event and real estate industries as a luxury vendor. I had a team of over 60 employees and was operating on both the East and West coast of Canada.
This is where my passion for real estate started to build. I began re-investing my profits into real estate in Vancouver. The rush I got from closing a deal or producing a high-return renovation exceeded the adrenaline I felt playing baseball. I knew I needed to switch my priorities and begin a full time career in real estate.
Now, I’m getting to do what I love everyday. I get to meet people from all walks of life and help them make their dreams come true. Whether it’s finding the perfect home, connecting with the right buyer, or selecting the best investment opportunity, I get a rush from it all and feel that I have finally found my niche.
